Matthew Matt James was conceived in North Carolina, on the 5th of December 1991. Matthew Matt James the mixed race son of Manny James (of Jamaican descent) along with Patty James. His father is Nigerian and his mother caucasian American. In 2010, he graduated at Sanderson High School and furthered into Wake Forest University where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics in the year 2015. James became famous when he appeared on The Bachelorette as a reality TV star. He was selected in 2020 to play the season's 25th bachelor on The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The series premiered in 2021. James was the ideal choice for the role, since he's rounded, tall and has good humor. Rachael Krkconnell was selected as his partner for the season. He teamed up with the popular dancing star Arnold in 2021 and competed in the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold were ranked 12th.
